A Rainy Morning Walk

The hubbs and I walk a few days a week for health and just for fun, this morning the rain had quit for awhile and the aftermath was gorgeous. Don't you just love this pathway and the old wall covered in moss?

This beautiful tiny barn caught my eye, the vines speak of timelessness, I just love it. Its refreshing to walk after the rain.
And this beauty, I think its called a chantrelle but I'm not a hundred percent sure. It was in a park near the end of our walk. On closer inspection it looks like a cluster of many small mushrooms instead of one large one as I had first thought.

As far as yarn goes, I've been knitting and crocheting cloths, some for myself and some to have a stash of to make quick gifts for friends or family. Its always nice to have a bunch made up and if say you are taking dinner to a family or want to give a thinking of you gift, you can tuck a few tied with a pretty bow into a basket with lotions and soaps or in a mixing bowl with the ingredients for a special soup, etc.

Thanks for stopping by!

Crochet, cotton and my cat...

Its still raining, and its International Coffee Day, or so FB says. So coffee, crochet, rain and my cat. Its a good day. Two of my sweetest friends wrote a book and they are going to be on Local tv tonight, I'm excited for them.
This cotton pumpkiny lovely is for my mantle along with a few more need-to-make things. Fall is the best time of year, its when we get to pull out everything we've been working on all year and start to wear. Cowls, scarves, shawls, sweaters, yarny-goodness. Yay!

...and Swiper, he lives up to his name, believe me.
What are you working on today?

Random thoughts, yarn and rain

I don't know what to say. I wanted to blog as a way to just relax, writing is a release for me, as is creating things. Yarn. I love yarn. Some days my heart hurts. My daughter has Type 1 Diabetes. I can't fix it or make it better. Just manage it and follow all the rules and instructions and pray and do everything to keep her healthy. But I hurt, I think as a parent you need to make the best life for your kids you can, but what happens when you can't make it better? Only do your best every day and hope its enough?

Random thoughts, anyway, its been raining for a few days, and its going to rain 4 or 5 more. I like the rain, its a great time to break out the yarn and make something. I don't know if anyone will want to read this, or follow along. I'm going to teach my son to either crochet or knit, he wants to make bags for the homeless this winter and if he makes rectangles, he can sew them into hats or just scarves to add to his bags with a little card. He has tried to crochet before, so maybe knit? I'll let you know how that goes, maybe he won't mind if I post a photo or two. Anyway, enjoy the rain if you are getting it, do something creative and go live, have fun and love a lot. Until next time...

Thinking about starting a new blog

Its been awhile, life gets in the way sometimes. I hope for simplicity, creativeness and peaceful reflection. Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
